Our client, E2P Systems, wanted to digitalise the design and management of large construction projects, which are often characterised by physical planning sessions with post-it notes and manual processes. The goal was to combine the ease of use of tools like Trello with the capabilities of traditional project management tools.

We have built dPlan on the low-code application platform Appfarm. Appfarm uses modern web technologies and increases the speed of development by using standardised pre-built software components. It provides full-stack flexibility, allowing us to define the data model, business logic and user interface, and tailor it to the specific user needs or workflow of the customer.

We developed the first version of the dPlan tool using Appfarm within a couple of weeks, which the client could then test directly in the market. dPlan has a relatively complex user interface, which underlines the flexible capabilities of the Appfarm platform. The Appfarm technology enabled us to bypass many of the early phase project activities and move directly into the implementation phase. We have also been able to adjust the product more quickly based on user needs and improvements, which in turn has promoted the agile working mindset in product development for both us and our customer.
