The plastic pirates are a green initiative of the NGO that focuses on clearing the ocean of waste. With the help of a dedicated crew, they engage people who have fallen out of the community to contribute to the clearing of the Oslo Fjord. Since their inception in 2018, they have grown into a team of nine dedicated pirates and received support from the local community when it comes to financial assistance and equipment such as old vessels.
In order to make their work visible and engage more supporters, Plastpiraten needed a website that conveys both the environmental mission and the social aspect of the initiative, in a way that inspires participation and support.
To help the Plastic Pirates spread their good deeds, Gture is developing their website. We have looked at how best to communicate their mission, vision and achievements. Furthermore, the website should help encourage other people and businesses to support their work. By applying Gture's best practices in user-oriented design and UX optimization, we hope to support this excellent initiative for many years to come.
Plastics in our oceans have received a lot of attention in recent years. At Gture, we are happy to help preserve the Oslo Fjord from unwanted impacts, as well as to support efforts to get people into meaningful work. The work of plastic pirates not only cleans our oceans, but also provides a valuable platform for people in need of a fresh start.
